As a registered member of the Southeastern Cherokee Council, Inc.,she held the position of Blessed Woman for the Lost River Band where some of her responsibilities included conducting sweat lodges
and healing ceremonies, leading singing and drumming circles and teaching the Cherokee language.
She is a frequent pow-wow dancer and has danced in the Sundance ceremony.
